Song: If I Let You Go
Artist: Westlife

Lyrics (excerpt):

Day after day
Time passed away
And I just can't get you off my mind
Nobody knows, I hide it inside
I keep on searching, but I can't find

The courage to show
To letting you know
I've never felt

so much love beforeAnd once again I'm thinking aboutTaking the easy way out
But if I let you go, I will never knowWhat my life would be holding you close to meWill I ever see you smiling back at me?(Oh, yeah) how will I know if I let you go?
Night after night I hear myself sayWhy can't this feeling just fade away? There's no one like you (no one like you)You speak to my heart (speak to my heart)It's such a shame we're worlds apart
I'm too shy to ask, I'm to proud to loseBut sooner or later I got to chooseAnd once again I'm thinking aboutTaking the easy way out
But if I let you go I will never knowWhat my life would be holding you close to meWill I ever see you smiling back at me?(Oh, yeah) how will I know if I let you go?If I let you go, ooh, baby
Oh-ooh-oh-oh
Once again I'm thinking aboutTaking the easy way out
But if I let you go I will never knowWhat my life would be holding you close to me (close to me, yeah)Will I ever see you smiling back at me?(Oh, yeah) how will I know if I let you go?
But if I let you go I will never know, oh babyWill I ever see you smiling back at me?(Oh, yeah) how will I knowIf I let you go

Lirik"I’m afraid like a child..."
Makna: Membandingkan rasa takut dengan ketakutan seorang anak kecil, menekankan kelemahan dan ketidakberdayaan dalam menghadapi cinta.

The meaning of the song "If I Let You Go" by Westlife is about a person struggling with unspoken feelings of love. The narrator is deeply in love with someone but is afraid to confess their emotions. They’re caught in a dilemma—if they keep their feelings inside, they may never know what could have happened; but if they speak up, they risk rejection and losing the person forever.

The song explores themes of fear, regret, longing, and emotional hesitation, showing how difficult it can be to take the risk of being honest about love. The repeated line "If I let you go, I will never know" highlights the fear of missed opportunities and the pain of uncertainty
